Drone operations have grown to the point where airspace and operational regulations have been implemented to assure safe and equitable access to the airspace. As drone operations continue to increase and demand for airspace usage becomes greater, additional infrastructure is being planned to allow equitable access to the airspace to maintain safety and accommodate the increase demand. The current vision for the management of drone operations involves a management and control system similar in nature to the air traffic control system; however, there are major differences between traditional ATC and UAS Traffic Management.
